Climber/Rescuer Training Certification
American Infrastructure & Tower (AIT) offers training certifications for tower climbers & rescuers in the telecommunications industry. Our instructors will come to you to teach this 2-day course. Our Climber/Rescuer certification complies with NATE Climber/Rescuer Training Standard (CRTS), ANSI/ASSP Z490.1, ANSI/ASSE Z359.2, and 29 CFR 1926 (OSHA construction regulations).
This course is provided for both Authorized Climber/Rescuers and Competent Climber/Rescuers. Those seeking certification as a competent climber will have to furnish proof that they have been working on communication towers as an authorized climber (accredited in compliance with NATE CRTS) for at least 90 days and pass their exams without assistance.
Climbers who successfully complete this course will receive both digital PDF certificates and physical wallet cards communicating the validity of their training. As students are required to complete both written and practical examinations, successful completion is not guaranteed.
Although the format can be adjusted to meet the needs and class-size of the client(s), this course is generally divided into one 8-hr day of classroom lessons at the client’s office followed by one 8-hr day of practical exercises and exams on a tower site.
This course includes personnel-hoists as a conceptual overview only. Workers who use personnel-rated hoists will require additional training from a qualified person to use and perform rescues using such equipment.
