Capstan Hoist Training
American Infrastructure & Tower (AIT) offers a certification course on the use of portable capstan hoists such as those manufactured by Thern, AB Chance, and Harken. This course provides telecom workers with all of the training required to use capstan hoists in compliance with applicable standards, including NATE Rigging Training Standard (RTS), ASME B30, ANSI/TIA-322-A, ASNI/ASSP A10.48-2023, ANSI/ASSP Z490.1, and 29 CFR 1926.
This course is provided on location at your company’s office and/or job site. The default version of this course covers 1000 lbs. and 3000 lbs. rated hitch-mounted capstan hoists. It can be adjusted to cover base-mounted capstan hoists upon request.
The length of this course varies based on the quantity of students and the on-site conditions but is generally less than one eight-hour day.
